Invitasjon fra Warwick Marler, Rowing for All Commission
Dear Tour Rowing Friends,
It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2020 World Rowing Tour American Samoa to be conducted in coastal rowing boats circumnavigating the beautiful waters around the island of Tutuila.
The Tour will be conducted in 2 groups with the groups coming together as spectators for the Flag Day Fautasi Boat Race and to row together in a Fautasi Boat (44 + Rowers). The Tour for the first group will be from 5 to 13 April 2020 and for the second group will be from 10 to 19 April 2020.
My apologies for sending the invitation so late, but the opportunity to conduct the tour arose late and it took a little while to put all of the pieces together to make it possible. This Tour will be a “Development Tour”. It will be the first World Rowing Tour hosted by a Pacific Island nation, and will provide a legacy benefit of contributing some coastal doubles to compliment the boats purchased from the 2019 World Rowing Tour New Zealand. The boats are used in American Samoa in FISA’s Pacific Island development project through the Oceania Rowing Confederation (ORCON). The boats will go to Samoa as well as American Samoa and will be available in the future for Tour Rowing. The cost of boat hire in the Tour budget is, nevertheless, modest.
The proposed itinerary is set out in the Tour Presentation attached. The cost of the Tour will include a €50 contribution to the FISA Tour Rowing Development Fund. If selected, fees will be payable in full shortly after selection.
It promises to be a fabulous Tour.
If you wish to participate in the 2020 Tour in American Samoa, please complete the attached application form and email it to me. This year I have sent the form in Word as well as pdf to make it easier for you to complete. Entries will close on 25 January 2020 and selections will be made shortly thereafter.
There will be a limited number of places for non-rowing partners. Non-rowers should also complete the entry form, but leaving the rowing particulars blank & inserting “Non-rowing partner of(name of rower)”
As we have done in recent years, to each member of our FISA Tour Rowing Family, whether you choose not apply for the Tour or are not selected, but you can come to American Samoa during the Tour, we would be delighted if you would make the time to join us for dinner one evening (at your own expense) to meet up with your old FISA Tour (World Rowing Tour) rowing friends. For catering purposes, we will need to know in advance that you wish to join us. If you want to come along to say hello to your old friends, please let me know what day(s) you would like to join us,& I will do my very best to find a place for you.
I look forward to seeing you, again.
My very best regards
Warwick Marler
